Runs on any Linux device with a WiFi interface. Installs in Docker — no cloud dependency, no vendor lock-in.
Auto-discovery

Not just devices
Every physical thing in your environment is an asset — sensors and smart plugs, but also people, vehicles, and equipment. One unified model, not a separate system bolted on.
Residents are first-class
People are assets, not afterthoughts. Assign a resident to their home zone, link their phone or watch as a location source, and the platform tracks their position automatically.
Spaces that match reality
Define a hierarchy of zones — buildings, floors, rooms, outdoor areas — using real-world GPS coordinates. The structure can go as deep as your space requires.
Assigned and live location
Each asset carries two independent zone fields: where you declared it belongs, and where its GPS fix puts it right now. Static sensors rely on the first; mobile assets update the second automatically.

Live data from any connected device, streamed over MQTT and pushed to your dashboard the moment it changes.
Widget dashboard
Build your own dashboard from sensor readouts, line charts, bar charts, and radial gauges. The layout is fully yours to arrange.
Historical trends
Query device history with hourly rollups. Raw data retained for 25 hours; aggregated min/max/avg kept indefinitely.
Automation
Flexible triggers
Trigger automations on device events, on a fixed schedule, or on a repeating interval.
Condition groups
Gate actions behind AND/OR condition groups. Compare datasource values, device states, or time ranges.
Actions
Control devices or toggle other automations as automation actions.
Mobile management
List all automations and toggle them on or off from the mobile app. No laptop required.

Install what you need
Hiclaro ships bare. Each device integration is a separate plugin — a zip you install through the dashboard. Nothing you don't use runs on your system.
First-party plugins
Official integrations for Victron solar systems, TP-Link Tapo smart plugs, and Ariston water heaters ship out of the box.
Community plugins
Publish your own plugin to the Hiclaro registry. Community submissions go through a review process before appearing in the registry.
Plugin widgets
Plugins can ship their own dashboard widgets. Installed plugin widgets appear alongside built-ins in your dashboard.

Documented MQTT telemetry contract and REST plugin lifecycle API. Any language, any runtime — ship your integration as a zip.
Widget SDK
Build custom dashboard widgets for desktop and mobile using the WidgetApi interface. Ship them inside your plugin zip.

Submit plugins to the public Hiclaro registry. Approved plugins are discoverable and installable by all Hiclaro users.
